September 5th already! Where did the summer go?! We're sad to leave behind the warm weather, sunny days (well, a few sunny days here in Portland anyway), and tan lines, but we can't help but be a little excited about Fall! In honor of our favorite time of the year - when we can finally break out those toasty socks again - we decided to round up a few of our favorite things that have us eagerly looking forward to pumpkin patches, colorful leaves, and cozy sweaters!
Favorite Fall Dessert:
Of course we had to start with food, right? Not that we don't enjoy food year-round, but there's just something about the cooler air that makes warm beverages and tasty treats just a little bit sweeter. Brought to you by Dorie Goodspan, the author of Baking: From My Home to Yours, one of our favorite Fall desserts is Brown Sugar-Apple Cheesecake. Mmmm - if you could taste Fall, we're sure it would taste a little something like this!

Favorite Fall Festival:
It might be a little bit of a trek from Portland, but the 3 hour drive to Florence's Chowder, Blues & Brews Festival is definitely worth it! A flurry of visitors join this small, coastal town in October for a chance to listen to fine blues musicians while voting for their favorite local chef in the Oregon Coast Professional Chowder Cook-Off and washing it all down with beers from Oregon's best microbreweries. Music, food, AND beer - not too hard to guess why we look forward to this festival every year!
Favorite Fall (above the legs!) Accessory: .
It's pretty obvious that we love to accessorize around here (especially with crazy socks!), but we can't forget about all of the other great ways to jazz up a Fall outfit either. One of our favorite scarves right now is Threadless' adorable "Reversed Precipitation" scarf! (And you thought we got enough of the rain living in Portland!) Subtle but funky enough for our style - we can't wait to sport this scarf soon!
Favorite Fall Activity:
One of our favorite things to do once the temperatures ease off a bit is hiking. Good thing there are plenty of trails around! So grab a pair of your comfy Sock It to Me's and your favorite hiking boots and hit the road! One of our personal favorites is Silver Star Mountain with its breathtaking views.
If you're in the area, Portland Hikers posts a great guide to the best trails & views: https://www.portlandhikersfieldguide.org/wiki/Must_See_Hikes
What about you, Sock It to Me fans? Let us know what has you jumping at the sight of the temperature dropping and the pumpkin patches appearing on roadsides?!
