As you may have heard, South Australia has been hit hard by terrible bushfires. These bushfires have been destroying homes, killing wildlife, and leaving many more animals injured and orphaned. Koalas and kangaroos have been especially affected and are being treated by AMWRRO Wildlife Clinic for burns.
We were very touched by Jeremy's story. You can read about it here. Be warned, there are some sad and graphic images.
We are sending AMWRRO our Koala Love socks for the volunteers to use as bandage covers and mittens for the koalas and kangaroos they have rescued. AMWRRO said they do not need any more mitten material, but are still accepting monetary donations. If you are an animal lover like us, please consider donating what you can to help a koala or two in need.

UPDATE (1/28/15): We heard over the weekend that, sadly, Gabby the kangaroo had to be euthanized due to incurable myopathy caused by the stress of the fires. AMWRRO is heartbroken over this, but keeps their hopes up. Fortunately, Jeremy the koala is doing much better and will be released soon.
UPDATE (2/4/15): Jeremy has been successfully released and is loving it! Check out the photo of him climbing a tree moments after release. You can also see our socks and Jeremy in action in this video. AMWRRO says they have some important news they will release on their Facebook page soon, so keep an eye on it!
