2016 Giving Back

While we give to those in need in all seasons, this time of year we are especially aware of those living without. Socks are one of the most needed items for homeless individuals and can bring a much-needed boost of color and confidence to anyone. We consider it an honor to help those in our own community and world-wide community we're all a part of. Here are a few of the organizations and people we've sent socks to:

Past donations include:

Portland City employees hold annual sock drives attempting to provide one pair of clean dry socks to everyone living outside, in shelters, in vehicles, or doubled up with relatives in Portland. This drive benefits Janus, Street Roots, & Transition Projects.
Camp Fire Columbia is a youth development organization located in Portland, Oregon with a mission to build caring confident youth and future leaders.
CAT is the Pacific Northwest’s largest nonprofit, adoption guarantee cat shelter.
Ask Wellness programs assist those in their community who are in crisis with anything that leaves a family or individual on the streets, without food, health or employment.
Sock It to Me has made donations to Portland Public Schools' arts program and althetic program. With more than 49,000 students in 78 schools, Portland Public Schools is one of the largest school districts in the Pacific Northwest.
JOIN exists to support the efforts of homeless individuals and families to transition out of homelessness into permanent housing.
Sock It to Me donated to the Oregon Beer Mile benefiting Achon Uganda Children's Fund. AUCF is committed to helping the community (Awake, in Otuke District in Northern Uganda) rebuild through improved health care and education, access to the life-enriching benefits of exercise and sport and overall self-sufficiency.
"I Have a Dream" Oregon was founded in 1990 to help low-income students succeed in school, college and career.
Project Lemonade is a Portland, Oregon non-profit 501(c)3 run entirely by volunteers. Our mission is to support and promote confidence in foster youth. Each August youth ages 5-20 shop for free back to school clothes in our pop-up shop.
